Younger Generations Encouraged to Conduct More Research

Semarang: The Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education has encouraged younger generations to conduct more research.
 
"Right now, we have an extraordinary momentum going on wherein we have many innovative young people. To that end, we continue to encourage them to conduct more research by providing them with opportunities," the ministry's director general of research and development strengthening Muhammad Dimyati stated here on Wednesday.
 
The higher number of youngsters, who conduct research and produce innovations, is indicative of the fact that the country will progress. 

Hence, if they are not given adequate opportunities to do so, they will regret it, he pointed out. Dimyati underscored the need to create a good research atmosphere to encourage them to conduct more research.
 
"This year, the endowment fund reaches Rp990 billion to conduct research. The fund will increase every year. The gains from the management of the fund will be directed to finance research," he noted.
 
The gains derived from the management of the fund will be channeled to institutes of higher learning, research institutes, and the public conducting research. Any individual can apply for the research fund to conduct research.
 
In the meantime, President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has expressed hope that the vocational training centers established in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) would effectively improve skills of work forces.
 
In 2019, the Ministry of Manpower would establish one thousand training centers, of which 500 centers would be launched in its first stage.
 
The president remarked that the training centers` effectiveness could be increased as it is established within the Islamic boarding school complex.
 
Furthermore, the president has called on the training center to adjust the training material with the industry in the region. (Antara)
