Torrential Rain Triggers Flooding in Ketapang Regency

Jakarta: Heavy rains poured over Ketapang Regency in West Kalimantan Province on Tuesday evening, triggering floods in as many as 15 villages.
 
According to the Operational Control Center (Pusdalops) of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), the
water levels vary from 50 to 250 centimeters. 
 
To tackle impact of the disaster, The Rapid Response Team (TRC) of the Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) of Ketapang Regency swiftly carried out rapid assessments and coordinated with related parties. 

"BPBD officers faced problems to obtain information from several affected areas," said BNPB spokesperson Raditya Jati in a written statement on Wednesday. 
 
"In addition, rubber boats are very much needed to enter the affected locations," he added.
 
Based on temporary monitoring on Wednesday morning, the weather is already clear.
