Jakarta: The National Police deployed 2,890 Mobile Brigade (Brimob) Personnel to secure a planned mass demonstration in Jakarta.
Organized by the Anti-Communist National Alliance (ANAK NKRI), the 1812 rally will be held in front of the Presidential Palace Complex on Friday.
According to the National Police spokesman Inspector General Argo Yuwono, there is no police permit for the 1812 rallly.
"Police didnt issue any permit due to covid-19 pandemic," said the police official here on Thursday.
According to reports, the rally will demand authorities to investigate the deaths of six Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) members and free FPI leader Rizieq Shihab.
In addition to that, the protestors will also ask the government to stop criminalization of ulema and guard the rule of law principle.
