Jakarta: Covid-19 Handling and National Economic Recovery Committee Chairman Airlangga Hartarto has revealed that the government will prioritize covid-19 vaccination activities in several regions.
"We will prioritize provinces with highest number of covid-19 cases, such as North Sumatra, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, South Kalimantan and South Sulawesi," the coordinating minister for economic affairs said during a video conference here on Thursday.
"We will also prioritize three special regions, namely Aceh, Papua and West Papua," the Functional Groups (Golkar) Party chairman stated.
On Thursday, The National Covid-19 Handling Task Force confirmed 4,432 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 377,541.
Based on data issued by the Indonesian Ministry of Health, from Wednesday noon to Thursday noon, the total number of recovered covid-19 patients across Indonesia was up by 3,497 to 301,006.
Meanwhile, in the same period, Indonesia's official covid-19 death toll rose by 102 to 12,959.
