Tangerang: The Tangerang regency government on Monday confirmed that 12 candy factory workers in Curug, Tangerang, Banten tested positive for coronavirus.
According to the Tangerang Regency Covid-19 Task Force spokesman Hendra Tarmizi, the cluster was detected by local officials last week.
"One worker was brought to hospital on Wednesday. We then conducted contact tracing activities. A total of 12 workers contracted covid-19," the official said.
"We have ordered the company to disinfect the factory," he added.
On Monday, the National Covid-19 Task Force announced 3,141 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 221,523.
Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, the total number of confirmed covid-19 recoveries increased by 3,141 to 221,523 from Sunday noon to Monday noon. Meanwhile, the total number of confirmed covid-19 deaths rose by 118 to 8,841 in the past 24 hours.
