Jakarta: Death toll from flash floods and landslides that hit eastern Indonesia province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) has increased to 181, NTT Deputy Governor Josef Nae Soi said on Wednesday.
"47 people are still missing," the NTT Deputy Governor said during a teleconference.
In early April, the tropical cyclone Seroja triggered landlisdes and flash floods in several regions in NTT Province.
Not long afterwards, Governor of NTT Province Viktor Laiskodat declared an emergency response status starting from April 6 to May 5.
On Friday, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) paid a working visit to NTT province to inspect post-disaster relief operation in the region.
The Head of State ordered his ministers to accelerate the evacuation process as well as search and rescue operations.
