Jakarta: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to hunt for fugitive Kirana Kotama in the United States. The KPK received assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to search for Kirana Kotama.
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) currently believes that Kirana fled to the United States. However, repatriating the fugitive is difficult because he already has permanent residence or permanent residency status there.
"They (FBI) will help, I see. We also use coordination with communication with the National Police Headquarters' NCB to create what is called police to police," said KPK Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur in Jakarta, Monday. , September 18, 2023.
Asep was reluctant to provide further details on the contents of the KPK's discussions with the FBI regarding the search for Kirana. The Anti-Corruption Agency hopes that the fugitive will be arrested soon so that the legal process continues.
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) once detected Kirana's presence in the United States. Until now, coordination with Interpol regarding the search is still being carried out.
Apart from Kirana, there are two KPK fugitives who have not been arrested. They are Paulus Tannos, who was involved in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of Electronic Identity Cards (KTP-el).
The next fugitive is Harun Masiku. He has been pursued since 2020 to take responsibility for the alleged DPR interim replacement bribery (PAW) case.
