Jakarta: The Regional Governor of Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, is now entitled to a 0,15 % operational allowance which constitutes the Regional Budget Earnings (PAD). The total allowance is supposed to be shared with the Vice-Governor.
“There is a regulation where in the event that the post of Vice-Governor is vacant, then the Governor can receive the total allowance which was supposed to be shared with the Vice-Governor,” explained the head of the bureau for regional chief and foreign cooperation of the Regional Government, Muhammad Mawardi.
According to the Government Regulation Number 109 Year 2000, a regional chief is entitled to receive allowance as much as 0,15 % (which is the limit) from PAD. He also mentioned that Anies preferred to take out a 0,10 % allowance instead.
“Now, the Governor prefers to take out 0,10 % for this 2019 budget period,” he said.
Meanwhile in 2018, Anies asked for a 0,13 % allowance from the PAD which amounted to Rp43,33 trillion at that time. On the other words, Anies might have received a massive amount of Rp56,32 billion in 2018.
The Allowance, he said, is now stored at the office of his bureau. He is allowed to cash the allowance whenever he wants.
“The allowance is organized only for every year. However, its periodic payment is every month,” he explained
Mawardi explained that the amount of salary for every regional chief is regulated in the Decree of The President of The Republic of Indonesia Number 68 Year 2001 concerning the amount of allowance for certain state officials.
“According to the decree, The Governor’ allowance for every month is Rp5,4 million. Now, he receives an amount of Rp8,4 million given the absence of his vice-Governor.” he said.
