Jakarta: The Indonesian government today confirmed 4,176 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in the country to 248,852.
Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, from Sunday noon to Monday noon, the total number of confirmed covid-19 recoveries in Indonesia was up by 3,470 to 180,797.
Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, the total number of confirmed covid-19 deaths across the country increased by 124 to 9,677.
On Monday morning, Minister of Religious Affairs Fachrul Razi was reported to contract covid-19. The minister underwent covid-19 tests on September 17. He is currently placed in isolation.
"The result of the test is positive. However, he is in good physical condition. He does not have any worrying symptoms," the minister's special staff Kevin Haikal said here on Monday.
The National Covid-19 Task Force is currently focusing on flattening the covid-19 infection curve in nine provinces with the highest transmission rates, namely Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, North Sumatra, South Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, Papua, and Bali.
To curb the spread of covid-19, the Indonesian government has set several targets, including lower daily new covid-19 cases, increase in recovery rate, and decline in mortality rate.
