Jakarta: Police have sealed off as many as 1,338 restaurants across Indonesia for violationg covid-19 restrictions, according to the National Police spokesperson Brigadier General Awi Setiyono.
"We sealed off a total of 1,338 restaurants across Indonesia from September 14 to October 4," the spokesperson said here on Monday.
To tackle the spread of coronavirus, several regions introduced a wide range of restrictions, including a ban on dine-in services at restaurants.
"The restaurants still offered dine-in services," the National Police official stated.
On Monday, The National Covid-19 Handling Task Force confirmed 3,622 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 307,120.
Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, from Sunday noon to Monday noon, the total number of recovered covid-19 patients across Indonesia was up by 4,140 to 232,593.
Meanwhile, in the same period, the official covid-19 death toll in the country rose by 102 to 11,253.
