Jakarta: A bus hit other three vehicles at the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road in West Java province on Monday morning, killing at least 12 people and injured dozens.
"The bust hit a toyota innnova car, a mitshubishi expander car and a truck," Majalangke Police head Adjunct Senior Commissioner Mariyono told reporters this morning.
According to the official, the crash occured near the kilometer marker 150 of the Cipali toll road at around 01:00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB). The bus brought 38 passengers at the time.
Based on testimonies from the eyewitnesses, the bus driver was attacked by one of his passengers. The bus driver then lost control of his vehicle.
The dead victims were brought to Cideres Hospital in Majalengka. In the meantime, the injured victims were treated at Mitra Plumbon hospital in Cirebon.
"They were evacuated to Cideres Hospital and Mitra Plumbon Hospital," Mariyono noted.
