Bandung: West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil is optimistic that the spread of covid-19 in the province will remain under control.

According to the former Bandung mayor, the percentage of occupied isolation rooms at local hospitals has increased by 40 percent during the New Normal Adaptation period in the past month.

"It was around 30 percent last month," the West Java governor said here on Thursday.

To tackle the spread of covid-19, the provincial government has prepared a wide range of measures. Local officials will continue to conduct more covid-19 testing. The West Java governor is also scheduled to visit industrial areas in Bekasi on Friday.

"I want to study covid-19 clusters in industrial areas. It is likely that factory workers contract covid-19 at their home. The implementation of health protocols in residential areas is not as strict as in factories," he explained.

As of Thursday, the Indonesian government has recorded 184,628 confirmed covid-19 cases, 132,055 confirmed covid-19 recoveries and 7,750 confirmed covid-19 deaths.
