Jakarta: Lion Air Group has ensured that passenger data of Indonesian passengers is safe. Previously, it was reported that Malindo Air passenger data and several flights under the Lion Air Group had been leaked. This caused panic because the data contain personal information of passengers.
"In connection with passenger data in Indonesia, up to now has been safe. If there is evidence of data leakage, steps will be taken immediately according to the appropriate measures," said Danang Mandala Prihantoro, Strategic Corporate Communications of Lion Air Group, through its official statement, Friday, September 20 2019 .
As for Malindo Air, Lion Air Group has reported the incident to the authorities. The Malaysian airline said it might have been misused by irresponsible parties.
To overcome this problem, Malindo Air's internal team with the help of external data service providers, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and GoQuo are currently investigating this matter.
"The Lion Air Group operator has taken appropriate and quick measures according to Regulation No. 20 of 2016 concerning Protection of Personal Data in Electronic Systems (Data Protection Regulations), in order to ensure that the consumers' data is not mistreated," he said.
Lion Air Group also informs us that they do not save details about payments from guests or passengers to the server. "Lion Group does not have any data related to passenger payments. So that leaked data is not payment (financial) data from passengers," he concluded.
