Palembang: The construction of the Indralaya-Muara Enim Section of the Trans Sumatra will begin in 2020.
PT Hutama Karya as the toll road contractor is still waiting for land acquisition. The section stretches 119 kilometers from Ogan Ilir regency until Muara Enim regency.
"Field construction will be ready by 2020," said Project Manager of PT Hutama Karya Hasan Turcahyo, in Palembang, South Sumatra on Monday, December 2, 2019.
Both equipment and other necessities are ready, we just to wait for land acquisition," he added.
He explained that land acquisition would be carried out entirely by the central government through the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR). He was reluctant to specify the cost of the land acquisition.
"Regarding how much the budget is for land acquisition is directly the concern of the central government," he said.
In this mega project, the construction work of the 65 kilometer Indralaya - Prabumulih segment will be carried out by PT Hutama Karya. In the meantime. the construction work of the Prabumulih - Muara Enim segment will be carried out by PT Waskita Karya.
The Indralaya - Muara Enim section will later be connected to Muara Enim - Bengkulu section so that it will connect between South Sumatra and Bengkulu.
"The construction of the Indralaya - Muara Enim is targeted to be completed in 2022," he said.
