Jakarta: The Jakarta Metro Police confirmed that the Special Detachment Team 88 (Densus 88) carried out an anti-terror operation in Cilincing, North Jakarta this morning.
"Yes, that's right," said Head of Metro Jaya Police Public Relations Commissioner Argo Yuwono in Jakarta, Monday, September 23, 2019.
The police official did not specify the number of arrested terror suspects.
The operation was carried out in a house at Jalan Belibis V RT 13 / RW 04, Semper Barat, Cilincing, North Jakarta. The police found an explosive device while searching the house.
Densus 88 has arrested nine suspected terrorists in the past two months.
The special unit arrested six suspected terrorists in East Java at the end of August. They are the members of Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) network.
In early September, police arrested three suspected terrorists in Palu, Central Sulawesi. The three would have joined East Indonesia Mujahideen (MIT) group led by Ali Kalora.
