Bekasi City to Evaluate Implementation of Social Restrictions: Mayor

Jakarta: Bekasi Mayor Rahmat Effendi has said that the Bekasi city government plans to evaluate the implementation of social restrictions in Jakarta's satellite city.
 
"We will evaluate our policies in one week. We need to study the covid-19 situation in the city.  Do people still gather outside? Does the number of cases increase? We also continuously conduct contact tracing activities," the mayor said here on Monday.
 
According to him, to combat the spread of covid-19, the Bekasi city government has been promoting health protocols, including wearing masks, washing hands and maintaining distance.

"The campaign is necessary to combat the spread of covid-19," he stated.
 
On Sunday, the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force confirmed 3,992 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases to 303,498.
 
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the total number of confirmed covid-19 recoveries has reached 228,453, while the total number of confirmed covid-19 deaths has reached 11,151.
