Jakarta: The total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Jakarta Special Capital Region increased by 1,450 to 51,287 on Thursday, according to the Jakarta Health Office.
"The total number is 51,287," Jakarta Health Office's Disease Control and Prevention Division head Dwi Oktavia said in a statement on Thursday afternoon.
As of Thursday, the total number of covid-19 recoveries in Indonesia's capital has reached 38,226. Meanwhile, the total number of covid-19 deaths in the province has reached 1,365.
"The testing rate is 68,176 people per one million people," the official stated.
The Jakarta provincial government plans to reintroduce Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) on September 14. The policy aims to decrease the covid-19 hospitalization rate in Indonesia's capital.
The Jakarta provincial government previously implemented PSBB for around two months from April to June. The regional government changed its policy to transitional PSBB in early June.
