822 Nurses in East Java Test Positive for Covid-19: PPNI

Surabaya: As many as 822 nurses have tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (covid-19) in East Java province, the Indonesian National Nurses Association (PPNI) has revealed.
 
"Yesterday, Nufia Anggraeini, a nurse in Pamekasan Regency, passed away after contracting the disease," PPNI's East Java Chapter chairman Nursalam said here on Monday.
 
According to him, Nufia had multiple comorbidities. She lived in Bugih District in Pamekasan Regency. She was graduated from Airlangga University in Surabaya City, the capital city of the province.

"25 nurses have succumbed to covid-19," the PPNI official stated.
 
On Monday, the Indonesian Ministry of Health announced 2,880 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 196,989.
 
From Sunday noon to Monday noon, the total number of confirmed covid-19 recoveries rose by 2,077 to 140,652. Meanwhile, the total number of confirmed covid-19 deaths increased by 205 to 8,130.
