Hospitals in Jakarta Ordered to Focus on Treating Severe Covid-19 Patients

Jakarta: Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan has ordered hospitals in Jakarta to focus on treating covid-19 patients with severe cases.
 
"So the hospitals should focus on treating covid-19 patients with severe cases or around 15 percent of total cases," the minister's spokesperson Jodi Mahardi told Media Indonesia here on Thursday.
 
According to the spokesman, 50 percent of covid-19 patients in Jakarta are asymptomatic, while 35 percent of covid-19 cases in Indonesia's cases are mild to moderate cases.

"Asymptomatic patients can be accommodated by the covid-19 emergency hospital. It still have enough vacant beds. We also can still increase the capacity," Jodi explained.
 
Minister Luhut is among the ministers who are assigned to monitor the development of covid-19 in the provinces of Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, North Sumatra, South Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, Papua, and Bali.
 
To tackle the impact of covid-19, the Indonesian government has set several targets, including lower daily new covid-19 cases, increase in recovery rate, and decline in mortality rate. 
 
"Minister Luhut has also ordered governors to establish isolation centers for asymptomatic patients or patients with mild to moderate cases," Jodi said.
