Pacitan: A magnitude 5.0 earthquake shook Pacitan Regency, East Java Province at 15.03 Western Indonesia Time (WIB) on Thursday, March 12, 2020.
According to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the earthquake did not trigger tsunami warnings.
With a depth of 15 kilometers, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 106 kilometers southwest of Pacitan Regency.
Besides Pacitan Regency, the earthquake was also felt in several regions in the provinces of Yogyakarta, Central Java and East Java.
"Some people were calm. I immediately went outside after I felt the earthquake," said Markus Yuwono, a resident in Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta.
