Jakarta: The National Covid-19 Handling Task Force today said that the Kemayoran Athletes Villages still have 1,239 vacant isolation beds for asymptomatic covid-19 patients.
As of Thursday evening, as many as 260 beds are still available at Tower 4, while 979 beds are still available at Tower 5.
"It is around 39.7 percent of the total capacity," the task force said here on Friday.
In March, the Kemayoran Athletes Villages was offficially turned into the Covid-19 Emergency Hospital. Operated by the central government, Towers 4 and 5 are used to house asymptomatic covid-19 patients. Meanwhile, covid-19 patients with mild to moderate symptoms are treated at towers 6 and 7.
On Thursday afternoon, the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force confirmed 4,174 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 29,182.
Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, from Wednesday noon to Thursday noon, the total number of confirmed covid-19 recoveries across Indonesia was up by 3,540 to 218,487.
Meanwhile, in the same period, the total number of confirmed covid-19 deaths in the country was up by 116 to 10,856.
