Jakarta: National Armed Forces (TNI) commander Air Chief Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto has
said that half-French cadet candidate, Enzo Zenz Allie, is qualified to become a soldier.
“He can meet our standards. We can look from the video which went viral,” the TNI commander told Antara on Tuesday.
In the viral video, Hadi asked Enzo to speak French. According to reports, Enzo can speak for four languages namely Arabic, English, French, and Indonesian.
“He was with his father during elementary school. His father then passed away in Caledonia. After that, he followed hus his mother to Jakarta. His mother then sent him to an Islamic boarding school," Hadi explained.
Enzo was born in France. He moved to Indonesia when he was 13 after his father's death. His mother is Siti Hajah Tilaria from North Sumatra.
“His nationality is Indonesian. That is why his application was accepted. A soldier must be an Indonesian. That is one of the requirements," said Hadi.
Enzo can run about 3.000 metres within 12 minutes. He can also pull up 19 times and sit-up 50 times under one minute.
According to reports, Enzo won a swimming competition at a district-level student sports week (Popda). In addition, he also won a marathon tournament in his hometown. (Translator: Rifqi Akbar)
