Batam: Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi inspected Thursday the
implementation of entry restrictions at Batam Port, Batam City, Riau Islands Province.
The policy is an effort to anticipate and prevent the spread of covid-19 cases and new covid-19 virus variants, including the Mu variant.
"As instructed by the President, today I went to Batam. The implementation needs to be
supervised. The Regional Leaders Coordinating Forum (Forkopimda) showed good responses. I appreaciate the Governor, local police, local military officers, and others,” said the Minister.
Moreover, the Minister said that the average number of Indonesian migrant workers
(PMI) who return through Batam Port reaches around 100.
"The Ministry of Health and Covid-19 Task Force will administer a type of testing method which will show results within hours so that returning Indonesian workers can be examined," said the Minister.
The Minister recommended that if their PCR test results show a negative result on the 7th
