Several Areas in Jakarta Flooded Due to Heavy Rains

Jakarta: Several areas in the Capital Special Region of Jakarta were flooded due to torrential rains falling from Monday night to Tuesday morning.
 
According to the official twitter account of the Jakarta Metro Police, floods started to inundate several areas in the province at 04.00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB),
 
In Central Jakarta, 50 cm deep floodwater inundated areas around the National Monument (Monas) Square such as Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan and Jalan Agus Salim. Floods also occured in Jalan Gunung Sahari, Jalan Swadaya, Sumur Batu area and Jalan Anyar Menteng.

In East Jakarta, 20-40 cm deep floodwater submerged Jalan DI Panjaitan in Kebon Nanas area. Floods were also detected in Jengki area, Jalan Bulak Barat, Jalan Tanjung, Jalan Kolonel Sutomo 2 and Kampung Tengah area.
 
In South Jakarta, one of the flooded areas was Jalan Swadaya, with the water level reaching a depth of around 50 cm. Floods also inundated areas in Jalan Gatot Subroto and Jalan Jenderal Sudirman.
 
In West Jakarta. Jalan Satria Raya, Pulo Indah housing complex and Jalan S Parman were inundated by floods. The floods prompted police to divert traffic around the affected areas.
 
One of the inundated areas in North Jakarta was Jalan Pluit Raya.
