medcom.id, Banda Aceh: The Banda Aceh city administration bans all things related to Valentine's day. Banda Aceh Mayor Illiza Sa'aduddin Djamal said the celebration contradicts with Islamic teachings.
Iliza mentioned the ban has been informed to cafes and hotels in the city. her government does not only ban Valentine's day celebration but also valentine's day merchandises.
"Also activity in social media," said Illiza in her office, Tuesday (2/9/2016).
The Banda Aceh city government will also put the announcement in cafes, shops and mosques in every corner of the Aceh province's capital. Officials will also monitor several public spaces.
"For the offenders, we will educate them," she concluded.
