medcom.id, Jakarta: The North Jakarta District Court on Thursday confirmed the Attorney General's Office (AGO) has withdrawn the appeal in the former Jakarta governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama's blasphemy case.
"They withdrew the appeal on June 6," the North Jakarta District Court spokesperson Hasoloan Sianturi said.
"We will submit the document to the Jakarta High Court," Hasoloan added.
The independent politician was sentenced a two-year jail term for committing blasphmey by the North Jakarta District Court on May 9.
The former East Belitung regent withdrew his appeal against his two-year jail term on May 23.
