medcom.id, Jakarta: Four Indonesian sailors previously held hostage by Abu Sayyaf in the southern Philippines arrived in Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta on Friday (5/13/2016). They then went to hospital for health examination.
The sailors were welcomed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi and Armed Forces Chief General Gatot Nurmantyo. Retno thanked all people that involved in the hostage release operation.
The four Indonesians were released by Abu Sayyaf on Wednesday (5/11). President Joko Widodo said the releases is the outcome of the trilateral meeting between Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia in Yogyakarta last week.
The four Indonesians were kidnapped on March. Abu Sayyaf have released 10 Indonesian sailors earlier.
