Ahok Promises Alternative Measures to Prevent Floods

medcom.id, Jakarta: Incumbent Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) has promised alternative measures to prevent floods in the province.
 
"Eviction will be the last resort," Ahok said here on Friday (12/30).
 
Ahok mentioned that the government can break the Ciliwung river. He explained that the measure can free many areas from floods.

"We need to break the Ciliwung river," he continued.
 
Ahok added that the government can build more reservoirs. The government should purchase more lands.
 
The former East Belitung regent will compete against Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono and Anies Baswedan in the Jakarta gubernatorial election next February.
