medcom.id, Jakarta: The Attorney General's Office (AGO) is preparing a letter for President Joko Widodo in summoning the former House of Representatives Speaker, Setya Novanto. AGO also still try to summon businessman M. Riza Chalid.

"We are still in the summoning process," mentioned AGO's Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Agung Arminsyah, in his office, Jakarta, Tuesday (12/29/2015).

Previously, AGO has sent letter to Riza on December 7 but his house was empty. The immigration stated Riza has gone abroad since December 3 when AGO started to investigate the meeting between Novanto and Riza with PT Freeport Indonesia CEO Maroef Sjamsoeddin.

In the meeting, Novanto, who was still the House Speaker at the time, along with Riza allegedly asked shares to Freeport. The record of the conversation has been given by Maroef to AGO as evidence.

Novanto's legal representative, Razman Arif Nasution stated that his client will be cooperative. "If summoned, he will attend," mentioned Razman to Metrotvnews.com.

Razman warned the Attorney General not to deliberately state the Golkar politician as suspect. The legal counsel will take the pre-trial measure should Novanto is made suspect.

According to Razman, AGO has the right to process this issue as it has become public attention. What he had deplored was the fact that AGO has taken action when the ethics trial process at the House Ethics Tribunal was still incomplete.
