Indonesia Got FAO's Social Protection Award

medcom.id, Probolinggo: Minister of Social Affairs, Khofifah Indar Parawansa said  Indonesian government was awarded by the Asia Pacific region of Food and Agriculture Association (FAO). Indonesia was considered to have a measurable social protection program.
 
"I would like to convey that yesterday I represented Indonesian government in Bangkok, during the world food dat, when FAO regional Asia Pacific gave an award in Indonesia as its social protection program was considered measurable due to its services in various problems experienced by Indonesians," said Khofifah at MAN 2, Jalan Soekarno Hatta, Probolinggo, Saturday (10/17/2015).
 
Khofifah was assigned to represent the government in accepting the award. The award ceremony was held in Bangkok, Thailand, during the World Food Day.

The government's social protection program currently is quite varied. The government has a protection program for the disability and the elderly.
 
Not mentioning the social protection for the families in need, given in the form of the Hope for Family Program (PKH). Aside from that, diesel subsidy provided by fishermen and the fertilizer subsidy for the farmers were also accounted for by FAO.
 
"Those were actually the notes for FAO Regional Asia Pacific, as yesterday I was assigned to represent the government to receive the award," she stated.
 
Khofifah added that the award was given for the government's effort to cut off the poverty chain through the social and farming protection programs.
 
"So, the award was basically to cut off the poverty chain in the regions through the social and farming protection program," she concluded.
