medcom.id, Jakarta: The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has detected 60 narcotics syndicates in Indonesia. About 48 syndicates are controlled from prisons.
"We have evidence for 22 prisons," said BNNN Chief Budi Waseso at his office, Jakarta, Thursday (6/2/2016)
"We are against powerful syndicates. They have sattellite communication. They can conduct financial transactions," he elaborated.
He cannot reveal the prisons that have been infiltrated by narcotics syndicates. Nevertheless, he urged the government to monitor officials in every prison.
"The prison officials must be involved. Some of them," he added.
BNN recently revealed narcotics syndicate at the Lubuk Pakam Prison in North Sumatra. The agency confiscated 97 kilogram of crystal methamphetamine, 50 thousand ecstacy pills and six thousand happy five pills from the syndicate.
