medcom.id, Jakarta: Five personnel of the Indonesian Army Special Force Command (Kopassus) are facing criminal law due to an overrun and loss of life. Additionally, they are to face internal sanctions for violating Kopassus' discipline.
"Even though they are not involved in any fights, disciplinary actions will still be taken since our members have visited that kind of amusement centre," Commandant General of Kopassus, Army Major General Doni Monardo said.
Doni in a phone conversation with metrotvnews.com, Wednesday (6/3/2015), asserted that every member of Kopassus are strictly forbidden to hang out in any nightclubs. As informed, the location of the overrun in Sukoharjo, Central Java, which caused the death of Sergeant Major Zulkifli, a member of Indonesian Air Force Headquarters Detachment (Sarban Dislog Derma Mabes AU), is a nightclub.
"Including when a soldier is not wearing uniform," he stated.
For legal process, Kopassis is conducting investigation related to the death, as they will be cooperative to Sukoharjo Police Resort and Diponegoro Regional Military Command's Military Police. It is said that there will be no cover ups in evidence gathering and other process.
"Five personnel have been placed to authorities for criminal process," the former Commandant of Presidential Security Force stated.
