medcom.id, Jakarta: National Police Chief General Badrodin Haiti officially replaced Papua Police Chief Inspector General Yotje Mende as he entered his retirement period. His position was replaced by Brigadier General Paulus Waterpau, who previously headed West Papua Police.

West Papua Police will be positioned by Brigadier General Royke Lumowa. Previously, Royke was assigned at the coordinating minister of politics, law and security. The three were sworn in for their new positions.

"Should you break your oath, then it shall be a personal consequence," Police Chief General Badrodin Haiti said as the commander of the ceremony for the credential handover at Rupatama, National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Friday (7/31/2015).

Previously, the Criminal Investigation Unit Chief Commissioner General Budi Waseso denied that Yotje's mutation was related to the riot incident in Tolikara, Papua. He thinks the transfer is a regular event happening in the institution.

Aside from retiring, Yotje is in a selection stage for the leading candidate of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). He hoped the transfer may provide chances for Yotje to focus on his selection process. (EPS)
