Gov't to Execute 15 Drug Convicts

medcom.id, Jakarta: Attorney General Muhammad Prasetyo confirmed the government is going to execute 15 death row drug convicts in the near future. Ten of them are foreigners.
 
Prasetyo mentioned that the executions will be carried out in Nusakambangan Island. "All of them are drug convicts as we are comitted  to fight against drugs," he stated in Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday (5/10/2016).
 
Prasetyo revealed preparation for the executions has been conducted. However, Attorney General's Office (AGO) has not decided the exact time and the convicts that will be executed.
 
Separately, Central Java Police spokesperson Chief Commissioner Liliek Darmanto revealed ten convicts that will be executed are foreigners comprising of four Chinese, two Nigerians, two Senegalese, One Pakistani and One Zimbabwean.
 
"The names will be informed later," he added.
 
Central Java Police has prepared 15 death squads for the executions. Medical team has also been brought to Nusakambangan Island.
 
Liliek said the latest information is the executions will be carried out in mid-May. "But the final decission is still in the hand of Attorney General," he underlined.
