Golkar to Reinstate Setya Novanto as House Speaker

medcom.id, Jakarta: The Golkar Party central executive board will reinstate Golkar Party chairman Setya Novanto as House of Representatives speaker.
 
Novanto resigned from the position last year after former energy minister Sudirman Said reported the lawmaker to the House of Representatives ethics council.
 
Sudirman claimed Novanto demanded shares from PT Freeport Indonesia. Sudirman submitted a voice recording as the evidence.

"The evidence is invalid," said Golkar Party executive chairman Nurdin Halid in Jakarta on Monday (11/21).
 
Nurdin ensured current House Speaker Ade Komaruddin will accept the decision. Ade is a respectable Golkar member.
 
"He is a senior member," Nurdin stated.
