medcom.id, Jakarta: Go-Jek management prepares a special task force to resolve the problems on the field should any Go-Jek riders are rejected or disrupted by local motor-taxis (ojek). The task force was formed to provide understanding and socialization to these local ojeks.
"If there is an incident such as that, there are two situations, we directly send task for team for socialization. If they want to join, there are requirements to be fulfilled," said Founder and CEO of Go-Jek, Nadiem Makarim, at Go-Jek Office, Jalan Kemang Selatan Raya, South Jakarta, Thursday (8/6/2015).
Nadiem admitted he had established a cooperation with Jakarta Police to guarantee the safety of riders. Police will move to handle the conflict involving violations of law.
"There are two things that we think violate the law, first is violence, second is to restrict people from entering public complexes. If the law is violated, we cooperate with the police to handle that," he stated.
Nadeem claimed that after a cooperation was established with Jakarta police, the resistance against Go-Jek riders on the field had reduced.
"Since we establish the cooperation with the police to report violence issues, several areas with friction have calmed down," he said.
Unfortunately Nadiem was not able to mention directly the areas receiving Go-Jek's presence.
"I don't know for sure. It keeps changing, some are still resistant have already been positive, it's dynamic. Therefore we have cooperated closely with the police for law enforcement, as it is the most important thing for us. Our riders' safety is the extremely important," said the graduate of a well-known university in the US.
As known, when Go-Jek started to be noticed, there were lots of local ojeks in several areas resented their presence. The consider that Go-Jek has taken their livelihood.
