Police Detain Zahro Express Captain

medcom.id, Jakarta: Police detained the captain of the Zahro Express ferry a day after it caught fire on its way to Tidung Island in Thousand Islands regency from Muara Angke Port in North Jakarta on Sunday, January 1, 2017.
 
"We have detained the captain and the crew," Jakarta Marine Police director Senior Commissioner Hero Hendrianto Bachtiar said.
 
"We have not received other information," he continued.

Previously, the Transportation Ministry criticized the captain who allegedly fled when the ferry caught fire.
 
"We will notify the Maritime Court. We will try the captain," Trasnportation Ministry sea transportation director general Antonius Tonny Budiono said.
 
The ferry carried more than 200 passengers. The incident killed 23 people and injured dozens. Around 17 people are still missing until now.
