medcom.id, Jakarta: Gerindra Party is unperturbed by Golkar Party's decision to quit the Red and White Coalition (KMP) and support the government. Gerindra Secretary General Ahmad Muzani said his party can understand the decision.

"Even though Golkar now joins the government, Gerindra can understand the decision," said Muzani at the parliament building, Jakarta, Thursday (5/19/2016).

Muzani affirmed that Gerinda will continue its role as opposition. According to him, it is needed to counter balance the ruling coalition. "Gerindra will continue to be opposition party," he stated.

KMP was established to support Prabowo Subianto during 2014 presidential election. The coalition consisted of Gerindra, Golkar, PPP, PAN and PKS. It then transformed into opposition bloc after the election.

However, most of its members has left to support the government. Gerindra and PKS are the remaining members of the coalition.
