medcom.id, Jakarta: Last Sunday (6/21) was a blessed day for President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), as he had his 54th birthday. Congratulatory notes were delivered through several social media, where the 7th Indonesian president's birthday became a trending topic in Twitter.
In his verified Facebook account, Jokowi said many had asked about his birthday, which was never celebrated.
"To answer several questions of whether I celebrate my birthday, I have never celebrated any birthdays. Only a small meal with my wife and children. I am thankful for the prayer and greetings from many parties, whether directly or through Facebook and Twitter," Jokowi wrote Monday evening (6/22/2015).
Jokowi said when he reached 54 years old, he was visiting the dockyard at Tanjung Uncang District, Batam. He thought the presence of dockyards are essential to Indonesia's maritime sector.
"Here, there are 1,400 hectares of industrial complex. I have asked the Coordinating Minister of Economy and the Head of Investment Coordinating Board to direct investments into this area," he stated. (Eps)
