medcom.id, Jakarta: Incumbent Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama has apologized to Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) leader Maruf Amin.
"I apologize to KH Maruf Amin," Ahok said in Jakarta on Wednesday.
"I acknowledge him as NU elder. I respect him as NU elder," Ahok mentioned.
Ahok denied that he will report Maruf. Ahok stated that he will never attack the cleric.
Maruf testified at Ahok's blasphemy trial yesterday. The cleric testified as Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) chairman.
