medcom.id, Medan: Myanmar citizen Khin Maung Win, 38, faces with Rp2 billion fine for illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing in Indonesia's exclusive economic zone (EEZ).
The trial was held at Medan State Court in Medan, North Sumatra on Tuesday (3/8). Khin Maung Min is the boat captain of a Malaysian vessel that was caught for stealing 1,140 kilogram of fish in November 2015. He is scheduled to deliver his defence on March 14.
Khin Maung Win was arrested with his three crew. "In this case, he is the only suspect because he is the boat captain," said district attorney Ifhan," after the trial, Medan, (3/8/2016).
"The ship has been destroyed by detonation in Belawan," he concluded.
