medcom.id, Jakarta: The joint fact-finding team has announced the results of investigation into alleged links between a number of high-ranking officials and drug lord Freddy Budiman.
National Police spokesperson Insp. Gen. Boy Rafli Amar said the team didn't find any evidence that Freddy bribed law enforcement officials.
"The team didn't find any significant information," Boy said in a press conference here on Thursday (9/15/2016).
The government executed Freddy in Nusakambangan island last July. However, not long after the execution, human rights activist Haris Azhar claimed Freddy bribed officials.
The team however acquired evidence that a police official extorted a drug lord named Chandra Halim (Akiong).
"A middle-level official extorted Akiong," Boy stated.
