medcom.id, Kendal: Ahmadiyya Mosque in Purworejo Village, Ringinarum District, Kendal, Central was attacked on Sunday (5/22) night.
"I don't know exactly about the incident. Around 10 PM, I heard loud noises. Hundreds of people destroyed the mosque," said one eyewitness, Yatin, Monday (5/23/2015).
"I didn't see (the attackers). I was afraid," Yatin continued.
Yatin revealed lots of villagers oppose the building of the Ahmadiyya Mosque. The owner attached steel frame to the building last night. Not long afterwards, hundreds of people came to the location and destroyed the building.
The police has secured the building with police lines. However, they have not issued official statement about the incident.
