medcom.id, Jakarta: The National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) will investigate the cause of the fire on the Zahro Express ferry.
The vessel caught fire on its way to Tidung Island yesterday. The accident killed at least 23 people.
"We suspect malfunction," chief investigator Aldrin Dalimunte said here on Monday (1/2).
"We will complete the investigation in two or three months," he continued.
Around 17 passengers are still missing until now. Divers are still searching for the missing.
