medcom.id, Jakarta: President Joko Widodo has decided to dismiss Energy and Mineral Resoures Minister Arcandra Tahar. Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan will temporary hold the vacant position.
"This decision will be effective next morning," said State Secretary Minister Pratikno in a press conference, Jakarta, Monday (8/15/2016).
Arcandra reportedly has United States (US) citizenship. Until now, Indonesia doesn't acknowledge dual-citizenship. According to the regulation, a person automatically loses Indonesian citizenship when the person takes a foreign citizenship.
Arcandra reportedly has entered naturalization process in the US since March 2011.
Jokowi appointed Arcandra as minister in a cabinet reshuffle on July 27, 2016. The offshore exploration expert replaced Sudirman Said.
