medcom.id, Jakarta: House of Representatives Speaker Setya Novanto submitted his resignation letter before House Ethics Tribunal (MKD) made decison about his case.
"Setya Novanto's resignation letter has been received by MKD. We will discuss it,"said MKD member, Sukiman, in Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday (12/16/2015).
Previously, Novanto's lawyer, Firman Wijaya, has indicated that the Golkar politican will resign from his position.
Novanto was examined by MKD for falsely using President and Vice President's name when he met PT Freeport Indonesia CEO Maroef Sjamsoeddin to get illegal gain amid Freeport's contract extension negotiation.
