KNKT Collects Batik Air and Trans Nusa Planes' Black Boxes After Runway Collision

medcom.id, Jakarta: The National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) is investigating the collision between Batik Air plane and Trans Nusa plane at the runway of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport on Monday (4/4) night. KNKT Chief Soerjanto mentioned the agency has collected black boxes from the two planes.
 
Soerjanto explained the cause of the collision has not determined yet. The agency is going to study data inside the black boxes.
 
"We are still gathering data. No analysis yet. We have collected black boxes from both planes," said Soerjanto during press conference at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, East Jakarta, Tuesday (4/5/2016).
 
Soerjanto added KNKT is going to download record between Batik Air plane pilot and air traffic controller official from the back box.
 
"Tomorrow morning we will download the two black boxes. We will also collect data fro (air traffic controller) tower," he stated.
 
 
Batik Air plane with flight number ID 7703 collided with Trans Nusa plane at the runway of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport. The left wings of the batik air and Trans Nusa Planes badly damaged because of the incident.
 
Fortunately, there was no casualty in the incident. Authority briefly closed the airport for investigation.
