Metrotvvnews.com, Jakarta: House of Representatives Speaker Setya Novanto who was reported to House Ethics Tribunal (MKD) for falsely using President Joko Widodo's name for illegal gain amid PT Freeport Indonesia's contract extension negotiation denied the allegation in the ethics trial today (12/7/2015).
Novanto said the allegation that was reported to MKD by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said is wrong. Novanto even said Sudirman has defamed him.
"Sudirman said defamed me by saying i falsely using president and Vice President's name and asking shares to PT Freeport Indonesia without any prove," said Novanto according to his demurrer received by medcom.id, Monday (12/7/2015).
Novanto added. "The testimonies (against me) are baseless and didn't contain any prove."
The Golkar Politician underlined he never uses his position as House Speaker for personal interests.
"I say it one more time i never use my authority for personal interests by asking for shares and falsely using president Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kala's names in the process," he concluded.
