medcom.id, Solo: President Joko Widodo appointed the Army Chief of Staff General Gatot Nurmantyo as the Indonesian Military Commander in Chief. The President hopes that the military will become stronger in Gatot's hands.
"I hope (Gatot Nurmantyo) may strengthen the military organization," President Joko Widodo said on the sidelines of his eldest son's wedding at his residence in Kutai Raya Sumber, Solo, Central Java, Wednesday (6/10/2015).
Jokowi stated the appointment of the candidacy for the Military Commander in Chief is the President's prerogative rights. "I use my authority as the Highest Military Command to nominate Gatot Nurmantyo as the highest commander," Jokowi stated.
The appointment letter for the Military Commander in Chief's name had been received by the House of Representatives. Letter from President Jokowi appoints the Army Chief of Staff General Gatot Nurmantyi as the Military Commander to replace General Moeldoko. (EPS)
