Metrovetvnews.com, Jakarta: The US Embassy will operate normally Friday although a number of Islamic organizations will stage big demonstration in the capital.
"We will still open tomorrow but we will reduce staff numbers," said US Charge d'Affaires Brian McFeeters on Thursday (11/3).
"We think transportation will be difficult," he continued.
McFeeters admitted the embassy issued travel notice ahead of the demonstration. The embassy advised American citizens to avoid the demonstration.
"We do not issue travel warning," he stated.
A number of Islamic organizations will hold demonstration against Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama. They want police to charge him for religious blasphemy.
